A Prayer For My BrotherAfter looking at this powerful work, it may not surprise you to learn that Phillips is a former firefighter. (Bill left the profession after 16 years when he began to earn a living through his art.) Bill has painted this iconic and heroic work of art to support firefighters nationwide. He hopes that the outpouring of support for New York fire fighters continues to raise awareness and appreciation for the everyday, unsung heroes in communities everywhere. (See options...) |

Angels Of My VillageWhile traveling in Umbria this past summer, artist James Christensen was inspired by the architecture of the region, the "piled and stacked buildings" of the hill towns. He filled his sketchbooks with Italian landscapes and cityscapes such as the one found in his newest piece, Angels of My Village. The illuminated landscape and hand-layered gold leaf of the painting call to mind the angels found in medieval manuscripts. "In my mind," says Jim, "it was kind of a thank-you painting for the feelings that we´re not alone. I think we need to remember that we do have angels watching over us. Even if you live in New York City, you have your village. I know every single person within three blocks of me. We help one another and are the angels for one another. We are the angels of our villages." (See options...) |

Awesome WonderAs the Savior of the world, Christ's relationship to the earth remains unique. In some incredible and awesome way He is the life force of all creation. The title ""Awesome Wonder"" refers to the Lord's expression of amazement and satisfaction while surveying the beauties of the earth. Perhaps Nature herself experiences ""awesome wonder"" as she looks upon the Savior. The elements joyfully obey His will and every form of life recognizes the benevolent Prince of Peace. The trees reverently envelop Him, the stream plays its soothing melody for Him while the clouds thunder their impressive salute. The words of the familiar hymn come to mind, ""How great thou art!"" BenedictionThe words coming out of this angel’s mouth are purposely provocative and designed to make you wonder “What does that mean?” It’s Latin, beatus est pisciculus, meaning “Blessed is the little fish.” Floating fish symbolize the magic all around us and they are blessed little things themselves, to bring this magic into our lives. Is the angel blessing the fish or the fish blessing the angel? The fish is a symbol I frequently use and this painting was meant as my “thank-you” for a lot of the magic in my life. Christensen’s original painting is 36x48 inches. Our Anniversary edition is released in two sizes, a very limited quantity at a major-statement size of 40 x 30, and also at 24 x 18 inches. The blessing of Benediction works beautifully at either size. (See options...) |

Don't Forget To PrayWhen sunlight fades and day is done and night is drawing nigh, Don''t forget to kneel and pray and thank the Lord on high. For all the many blessings that come from heaven above, For all your friends and family and for everyone you love. For all your happy memories, that make you laugh and smile, Even for the growth you''ve made while passing through each trial. Then ask Him for the help you need to make it through your week, Ask Him to comfort and strengthen you when things are looking bleak. Ask Him for His guidance to help you choose what''s right; Ask Him to watch over you and keep you through the night. And because He loves you, He''ll listen to what you say. So, every night, before you climb in bed, don''t forget to pray! (See options...) |

Faith Hope And CharityInspired by a recent mural project, James Christensen set out on an awfully big adventure. Wanting to do something grand and romantic while exploring the texture, surface and richness of paint, James chose for his subject three of Paul´s greatest virtues - in the form of three women. "This piece is a little bit of a departure," Jim says. "But these gifts of the spirit are important qualities for us to remind each other about." The words in gold leaf identify the three as their names appear in the original Greek Biblical text. "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." - I Corinthians 13:13 (See options...) |

Heavenly HandsAfraid and wandering, we lost our way. With no aid in sight, we began to pray: ""Please keep us safe in such hostile lands,"" Then came the warm touch of Heavenly Hands. Perhaps one on our shoulder when we felt alone, While another pointed the way which then led us home. The help came unseen like the wind as it blew, But we all felt it upon us, and that's how we knew, That angels still watch and sometimes send us a ""rose""--A gift to remind us that Heaven still knows, All that we go through and all that we need. Surely Heaven is with us, if we'll only give heed. (See options...) |
